Mark your calendars and reserve the date– Friday, June 10, 2022, at 6 PM at the Oak Glenn Winery—The Annual Celebration of Life. It is the time of year to celebrate those who have survived cancer and mourn those who passed with this dreaded disease. The evening will begin, rain or shine, with the VFW Color Guard presentation of the colors, followed by the Invocation and the singing of the National Anthem. A meal consisting of chicken, pork, green beans, baked beans, and potatoes with a choice of desserts will follow. A live auction will have hand-made quilts, a gun safe, a wine basket, homemade cinnamon rolls, prize-winning pies, etc. A silent auction will also be held. A gun raffle will spark your interest. A raffle will also be held for a special prize announced later. Hermann-famous, homemade ice cream will be available for your cravings. The evening will finish with the Candle Ceremony to honor those who have had this terrible disease.
The Crusade Against Cancer is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt entity organized by and run by volunteers from the community that assists patients with cancer with expenses not covered by insurance. The Crusade is currently a member of the Community Foundation of the Hermann Area, Inc. To date, the Crusade has assisted 218 families with over $404,086.
